Dr. Christian Bergmann is the Founder and Principal Architect of CBA Christian Bergmann Architecture, based in Hamburg, Germany. His work is guided by the ambition to shape the future of architecture through a systemic understanding, grounded in architectural excellence. CBA stands for a positive idea of the future, placing people and the environment equally at center stage.
Before founding CBA, he was a Partner and Head of Architecture at Hadi Teherani Architects, where he led major mixed-use projects including the Deutschlandhaus Hamburg, the Flare of Frankfurt, the Volksbankareal Freiburg, and the Innovationsbogen Augsburg. Prior to that, he worked with Werner Sobek in Stuttgart and UNStudio in Amsterdam.
He studied architecture at ETH Zurich and the University of Stuttgart, where he also earned his doctorate. He lectures internationally, serves on juries, and is the author of Designing Processes – A Strategy for the Future of Construction (Birkhäuser
